Babies class is specially designed to explore, treasure, nurture and develop your baby's music world. A wonderful, enjoyable mommy and me class filled with great information for new parents wishing to support their infant's music development from the very beginning!
Music Together Mixed Ages
Children ages birth to 5 experience the various stages of musical development through singing, movement and instrumental play. Strong child-parent focus enables each individual child's stage of development to flower within the larger community.

Indigo Rhythm
Tuesdays 3:30, Windgate Ranch - Ages 8-12. Classes begin September 8.
Indigo Rhythm explores a rainbow of creative expression and skill building. The nuts and bolts of rhythm, melody, harmony, ensemble playing and communication are our playground. Arrangements of Beatles songs, classic rock, the blues and student originals. From wild and whacky exercises to sublime soundscapes. Our instrumentation includes voice, Orff instruments, keyboard, percussion and Boomwhackers. Bring your own instrument or find one here!

KidStrums
KidStrums I - monthly schedule at Windgate Ranch or 10 week schedule at the Holland Community Center. Guitar playing and songwriting for children ages 8 - 12.
Level: Beginners
Windgate Ranch September session begins 9/7 and includes:
1) Small group classes, the first three Tuesdays of September, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Windgate Ranch (9/7. 14. 21).
2) One hour private lesson in guitar/songwriting, individually scheduled.
3) Indigo KidStrums Workshop (2 hr.Immersion with Indigo Rhythm multi-instrumentalists). 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on 9/28 at Windgate Ranch.
4) New Family class materials ( Guitar book / CD and music manuscript notebook).
$170 monthly New Family / $150 monthly Returning Family
Holland Community Center 10-week session begins September 22 and includes:
1) 10 weekly group classes
2) Class materials: Guitar book / CD and music manuscript notebook
Tuition: $170 for 10 week series New Family / $150 for 10 week series Returning Family

KidStrums I is a great opportunity for any child wishing to dive deep into the heart of guitar playing, step by step. Your child will have fun naming guitar parts, tuning, learning chords, singing and playing familiar songs. Yellow Submarine, Eleanor Rigby, classic folk, reggae and rock as well as originals are our playground! Basic song writing is cultivated, using simple chords learned in class and everyday life experiences as lyrics. Fun, focused and inspiring. Parents have been known to join in and compose their own songs too! Back by popular demand this fall at Windgate Ranch. A 10 week session is newly offered at the Holland Community Center in N. Scottsdale (see above for description).
Tuition: $170 for 10 week series.
KidStrums II is recommended for intermediate KidStrums students (see below for KidStrums II description). Consult with Claudia on the readiness of your child.

KidStrums II - Private lessons, songwriting and ensemble work. Level: Very experienced beginners to intermediate.
September session begins the week of 9/7 and includes:
1) 1-hour private lessons scheduled with Director during the first three weeks of the month. Windgate Ranch or N. Scottsdale studio.
2) Group class: Guitar ensemble meets the last Thursday of each month. 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Windgate Ranch. Standard repertoire and arrangements of student originals. Next class is 9/30.
3) Your child's original composition of the month is arranged for the guitar ensemble.
Guitar technique, repertoire, performance confidence and songwriting skills steadily develop in KidStrums II. The budding musician flowers in this challenging yet completely supportive environment. Children have fun playing all time favorites and composing fabulous, funny, heartfelt songs and sublime soundscapes which draw from the technical and chordal palette as it develops. This course of study is highly individualized, assumes a working knowledge of fundamental guitar playing and the student's desire to have their music arranged for an ensemble. TeenStrums I - Based on the KidStrums program but designed for the teenage sensibility, TeenStrums I includes group lessons in guitar playing/technique and songwriting. Classic rock, blues, folk, reggae and originals are our playground. Songwriting is often personal, expressing inner feelings about daily life as well as universal themes. Level: Beginner
10 week seesion begins 9/23 at Windgate Ranch and includes:
1. 10 weekly group classes.
2. New Family class materials: Guitar book / CD and manuscript notebook.

Indigo KidStrums Workshop
3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Indigo KidStrums is the meeting place of two exciting, complementary music programs featured at Under One Common Sky. This 2-hour immersion of musical games and ensemble work explores Beatles songs, classic folk, reggae and rock and student originals arranged for voice, guitar, keyboard, Boomwhackers, percussion and Orff instruments. Additional instruments are welcome - check with Claudia. Indigo KidStrums Workshop is included in Indigo Rhythm and KidStrums I registrations.
Our next Indigo KidStrums Immersion Workshop is on Tuesday, September 28 from 3:30 to 5:30 at Windgate Ranch. Note: Drop-ins must be intermediate players with their own instruments and accepted by Director. Intergenerational Jazz Ensemble
Jazz standards, the blues, latin jazz and gypsy jazz are our playground. Pull out that trumpet and bring your son or granddaughter to this monthly training ground for jazz lovers. Learn how to improvise and understand form while developing style. "How do you get it to really sound like jazz or rock or the blues" will be answered here, in theory and practice.
