Mixed Ages classes include songs, rhythm chants, creative movement, and instrument play for children and the adults who love them. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance oriented musical experiences. They are developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers regardless of their own musical ability. Our 10-week Fall Semester begins January 2-4. Classes meet once per week and class length is 45 minutes. 2 CD's and an illustrated songbook of the current semester's materials are included in Mixed Ages classes. In addition, New Families receive an introductory DVD to the Music Together program & philosophy and a Musical Growth Chart to help parents understand and track their child's musical milestones and everything in between!

 Class Descriptions

 Mixed Ages class  (ages newborn to 5 yrs.) supports early childhood music development through singing, creative movement and instrumental play. Strong parent-child interaction enables each individual child's stage of development to flower within the larger community. During fall, winter and spring, the class materials for Mixed Ages Class are one of our nine song collections rotated over three years including 2 CDs and a beautifully illustrated and informative songbook. In addition, New Families receive a introductory DVD to the Music Together program philosophy and a Musical Growth Chart to understand and track your child's musical development, step by step.

Babies Class (ages 0 - 9 months) is a fun, informative class for new parents. It is designed to nurture, treasure and develop your baby's musical world while supporting a parent's interactive discovery of it. Through music, movement and instrument play, the class explores developmentally appropriate musical stimulus, exercises and positions using the semester's music. Rhythmic and melodic development flourish is this relaxed, fun, informative setting and parents learn great ways to apply the experience at home. Class materials included include 2 CDs and an illustrated songbook from one of the two Music Together Babies Song Collections. Babies are always welcome in Mixed Ages Classes as well!

Music Together Guitar Class for Adults - 8 weeks. Bells Song Collection for Winter 2012. Under One Common Sky offers it's second year of Music Together Guitar Class for Adults. The one hour class meets for 8 weeks, designed for parents and caregivers who wish to deepen their 'at home' and 'on the road' family experience of Music Together using the current semester songs as repertoire and guitar as the vehicle. It was universally proclaimed a 5-star, richly creative experience by parents involved in the program over the past two years. Nourish yourself and your family by planting seeds of skill and creativity, leading to a grand harvest of joyful music! Beginners and experienced beginners welcome.

Private Lessons in Four and Ready. Some children are simply ready for private music play sessions as early as four years old. This often works well as a co-requisite to Music Together classes.
